Guide
Deposits and withdrawals
Depositing is designed to be effortless. Withdrawing is where the process shows its real shape. This guide covers which methods actually pay out fastest, what verification asks for, and the avoidable mistakes that freeze a payout for a week.

Choose the method for the withdrawal, not the deposit
Almost every method deposits instantly. They differ enormously on the way out, and most operators require you to withdraw to the method you deposited with. So the method you pick at signup is effectively the method you are stuck with when you win.
| Method | Deposit | Withdrawal | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|---|
| E-wallets | Instant | Same day to 24h | Usually the best balance of speed and protection. Some operators exclude e-wallet deposits from bonus eligibility - check first |
| Debit card | Instant | 1 to 5 working days | Paid as a refund to the original card, which adds bank-side delay. Credit cards are banned for gambling in some countries |
| Instant bank payment | Instant | Same day to 24h | Fast and well protected where available, but availability is very country-dependent |
| Bank transfer | 1 to 3 days | 2 to 5 working days | Slowest, and often the only route for large amounts |
| Crypto | Minutes | Minutes to hours after approval | Fast but final. No chargeback, and a wrong address or network loses the funds - see crypto casinos |
| Prepaid vouchers | Instant | Not supported | Deposit only. You will need a second verified method to withdraw, so set that up early |
Verification, and why timing is everything
Every licensed operator must verify who you are. That is a legal obligation, not an obstruction. What varies - and what we score - is when they ask.
Good practice
- Documents requested at registration
- Clear list of what is accepted
- Verification confirmed before you can deposit meaningfully
- Status visible in your account
- First withdrawal processes without further requests
Bad practice
- No verification until your first withdrawal
- Documents requested one at a time over several days
- Rejections without saying what was wrong
- Source-of-funds demanded on a modest win with no threshold published
- Verification resets after an account change
What you will be asked for
- Photo ID. Passport, driving licence or national ID. All four corners visible, no glare, not cropped.
- Proof of address. Utility bill or bank statement, normally dated within three months, with your name and address matching the account exactly.
- Proof of payment method. A card photo with the middle digits obscured, or a wallet screenshot showing your name.
- Source of funds. For larger amounts - payslips or bank statements. Legally required above certain thresholds.
Complete verification immediately after registering, before you deposit. It removes the most common cause of a delayed payout, and it tells you early whether the operator process is reasonable - while you still have nothing at stake.
Mistakes that freeze a withdrawal
- Name mismatch. The casino account, bank account and wallet must all carry the same name. A missing middle initial is enough to trigger manual review.
- Withdrawing to a different method. Anti-money-laundering rules normally require funds to return the way they came, at least up to the deposited amount.
- An active bonus. An unfinished wagering requirement usually locks the entire balance. See our wagering guide.
- Breaching the max bet rule. Exceeding the per-spin cap while wagering can void the bonus and every penny won from it.
- Ignoring withdrawal caps. Weekly or monthly limits turn a large win into instalments. Published in the terms, never in the marketing.
- Multiple accounts. One account per person per household. Duplicates are grounds for confiscation almost everywhere.
- VPN use. Appearing to play from a restricted country can void an account entirely, even if you genuinely live somewhere permitted.
Fees
Most reputable operators do not charge for deposits or withdrawals. Where charges appear, they are usually one of these, and all are disclosed in the terms:
- A fee on repeated withdrawals within a period, after a free allowance
- Currency conversion, if your account currency differs from your payment method
- Network fees on crypto, sometimes absorbed and sometimes passed on
- Bank transfer fees, particularly international
Currency conversion is the one people miss. Holding an account in a currency you do not bank in can quietly cost a few percent on every movement in both directions.
The pending window
Many operators hold a withdrawal in a pending state before processing, during which you can cancel it and return the money to your balance. A long reversible pending window is a design choice, not a technical necessity, and it exists because a meaningful share of players cancel and play the money back.
The cancel button is the single most expensive button in an online casino. If an operator offers a one-way lock or a setting to disable reversals, turn it on. We rank operators on this - see fast payout casinos.
FAQ
How long should a withdrawal take?
With verification already complete and an e-wallet, money should be with you within 24 hours. Cards and bank transfers add bank-side delay of one to five working days. Anything over 72 hours from request to sent, with no reason given, is slow.
Why was my withdrawal reversed into my balance?
Either you cancelled it during the pending window, or the operator returned it because verification or a bonus condition was outstanding. Check your account messages - the reason is usually there.
Can I withdraw to a different account than I deposited from?
Usually not, up to the amount you deposited. Beyond that, some operators allow a different verified method in your own name. Never someone else name - that is grounds for confiscation everywhere.
Is it safe to give a casino my ID?
With a licensed operator, yes - they are legally required to collect and protect it. Upload through the account portal rather than by email, and check the privacy policy for retention periods. With an unlicensed operator, you are handing identity documents to a company no regulator supervises.
